Social Responsibility: Creating Beauty and Providing Dignity

Improving the lives of their artisans has been (and is) a priority for Jaipur Living. Founded on principles of social responsibility, founder N.K. Chaudhary (“NKC”) saw a need he could fill by providing a sense of dignity and purpose for those who’d been left behind or ignored.

“Let goodness, fairness, and most importantly, love prevail in business; profits will inevitably follow.”

Beginning with just seven looms and 50 employees, Jaipur has grown to thousands of looms and tens of thousands of weavers, spinners, and finishers. These artisans are no longer second-class citizens or “untouchables” to be looked down upon.

The company promotes Education, Wellness, and promotion from within through the Founders Foundation which supports the health, wellness, and education of previously devalued women (and men), subverting centuries-old practices that had shunned the poor, women, and artists. As a result of NKC’s principled approach to business, these creatives have now been elevated to better-than-average lives in India.

“Today, Jaipur Living is a leader in rugs and social business, offering quality, value, and beautiful design.”

Committed to Improving Lives One Hand-Crafted Rug at a Time

The Jaipur Living website proudly proclaims its commitment to the artisans and families who have devoted themselves to keeping the art of handmade rugs alive:

“Jaipur Living's purpose is to create beautiful lives for our customers, consumers, their families and friends, the artisans who create our products, and our employees. We are committed to the craftsmanship and artfulness of handmade rugs, and to keeping the age-old art alive.”

At TD Fall we are immensely proud – and grateful – to be able to work with such amazing people and to provide professional representation for their rugs.
